Underdogs to Favorites
At the beginning of the year, the Phoenix Suns had 100-1 odds to win the NBA title. The Milwaukee Bucks? 5-1. Now, they'll go head to head in the NBA Finals with the Suns the slight favorites.
The biggest storylines:
Giannis Antetokounmpo's knee - he's expected to miss game 1. Without him, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday must be magnificent to give the Bucks a chance.
Chris Paul's first NBA Finals - as the favorite to win Finals MVP (+140), CP3 looks to add a title to an incredible career (11x All-Star, 9x All-NBA).
Lack of experience - on either team, only Phoenix's Jae Crowder has played in an NBA Finals game.
The X-factor: Deandre Ayton, the former #1 overall pick, has been fantastic during Phoenix's playoff run. He outplayed Anthony Davis and went head-to-head with MVP Nikola Jokic.
Now, with Giannis expected to miss game 1, Ayton has a chance to dominate both offensively and defensively for the Suns. Averaging 16.2 points and 11.8 rebounds per game during the Playoffs, expect both of those numbers to go up for the 22-year-old big man.
