Mbappe Tells All
At the end of the summer transfer window in August, Real Madrid made a last-minute dash to try and sign PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe. It seemed Mbappe had given the club an ultimatum and demanded to leave.
But that’s not what happened: Yesterday, Kylian spoke at length about the summer transfer window, covering everything from a new contract to his desire to play for Madrid.
“From the moment I did not want to extend, I wanted the club to receive a transfer fee so they could bring in a quality replacement.”
Further, Mbappe let PSG know in July (two months before the transfer window closed) he would not be resigning with the club:
“Personally, I didn’t really appreciate Paris Saint-Germain saying, ‘He is asking to leave in the last week of August’ because that is wrong. It made me feel like a thief. I informed them early.”
The bottom line: Even with Mbappe saying he won’t sign another contract and Real Madrid offering over $200 million for the superstar, PSG refused to let him leave.
Now, PSG have until summer 2022 to convince Mbappe to stay before his contract expires.
But, with Mbappe upset about how PSG handled the situation and how they made him look publically, it appears likely he’ll leave the club on a free next summer.
(3-1) LA Chargers28vs. (3-1) Las Vegas Raiders 14
After what might have been the first rain delay for a game played in a dome, the Chargers held off the surging Raiders behind QB Justin Herbert (222 yds, 3 TD) and RB Austin Ekeler (145 total yards, 2 TDs).
In an odd scenario, Chargers fans were outnumbered by Raider nation in LA who happily booed the Bolts during their home entrance.
Must watch: Raiders slot receiver and punt returner Hunter Renfrow laid the boom on an unsuspecting Chargers player on a fake punt.
