For a cool $175M price tag, Crypto.com became the “official fight kit partner” of the UFC for the next 10 years. The company gets to put its logo everywhere:
Fighter walkout gear
Keep your eyes peeled. The partnership begins during McGregor vs. Poirier part 3 this Saturday.
What do the fighters get? Other than new uniforms, not much. According to ESPN, "Fighters will not get a direct cut of the UFC’s deal with Crypto.com. However, they will be able to broker individual deals with the cryptocurrency company and be used as paid brand ambassadors."
Zoom out: The crypto and sports worlds continue to collide. In the last year alone, we've seen:
Tom Brady reach an equity agreement with FTX, a major crypto exchange
FTX secure the naming rights to the Miami Heat's stadium
NBA Top Shot generate hundreds of millions in revenue as a collectible platform built on top of the blockchain
#2 Phoenix Suns118vs. #3 Milwaukee Bucks 108
The Suns’ balance was too much for the Bucks despite Giannis’ huge game (42 pts, 12 reb).
Unfortunately for the Bucks star, his teammates went a combined 27-71 from the floor.
Phoenix leads the series 2-0.
(54-34) LA Dodgers 6vs. (38-48) Miami Marlins 1
In a week worth forgetting for the franchise (i.e., Trevor Bauer), the Dodgers avoided a series sweep thanks to a league-leading 11th win from Julio Urías.
Stat:The same day he committed to the MLB Home Run Derby, Joey Gallo hit his 10th home run in his last 10 games.
