Wild Card: The National League Wild Card is a three-team race for the second spot. The LA Dodgers hold the first Wild Card with an uncatchable 15.5-game lead.

Boston Red Sox
Toronto Blue Jays
Each league’s top two wild card teams play each other in a one-game playoff for a spot in the first round.
Divisions to watch:
NL East: The Phillies were two games below .500 at the start of August. Now, they're two games back of the Braves for the top spot in the division. The winner is locked into a playoff spot, but the loser will miss the postseason.
AL East: The division with the best chance of sending three teams to the postseason, the Wild Card could be a bonus Yankees-Red Sox matchup.
Looking ahead: With regular-season games ending on October 3rd, teams have ~10 games remaining to catch a divisional or league opponent in the postseason standings.
