⚾ The Arizona Diamondbacks have lost an MLB record 23 road games in a row. It's so bad, it's hard to look away.
Welcome to Omaha
Get your big league chew and rally caps ready. This weekend, the best college baseball teams head to Omaha for the College World Series. The basics:
Who: The eight Super Regional winning teams
When: June 19 - June 30
How'd they get here?Unlike most postseasons, NCAA baseball throws a changeup. It alternates between double elimination and a best of three series through each of the postseason’s four rounds.
It starts with a 64 team tournament (16 four-team mini brackets) with double elimination. The 16 winners are reorganized by seed and paired off to play a best of three-game series for one of eight spots in the College World Series.
The CWS format is tricky:
The eight teams are placed in two double elimination brackets with four teams each.
The survivor of each bracket makes the finals.
The finals is a best of three series.
Let's look at the teams and their first games.
