Good morning! Golf ball-gate is officially underway after the SEC and law enforcement cracked down on the Tennessee Volunteers, punishing the school's fans for pelting Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin with golf balls and mustard bottles.
$250,000 fine for the university.
18 fans arrested.
The University must review its alcohol availability policy, specifically within its stadium.
Remember, Lane Kiffin coached at Tennessee back in 2009 before ditching the Vols for Southern Cal.

WATER COOLER TALK
🏀 The preseason NCAA men’s basketball AP poll dropped with Gonzaga, UCLA, Kansas, Villanova, and Texas filling out the top five.
Duke (#9), Kentucky (#10), and North Carolina (#19) are ranked higher than many expected after the Blue Devils and Wildcats missed the NCAA Tournament last season.
St. Bonaventure (#23) is ranked for the first time in 50 years.
🏀 NBA teams handed out monster contracts to young players with both Jaren Jackson Jr. (4-year, $104 million) and Mikal Bridges (4-year, $90 million) agreeing to deals with the Grizzlies and Suns, respectively.
For perspective: Both players, who are complimentary starters, are making the same amount ($22-25 million per year) as Kobe and LeBron in the 2015-2016 season.
🎾 Indian Wells, one of the largest tennis tournament outside of the Grand Slams, provided two unexpected champions:
Cameron Norrie won the men’s tourney while Paula Badosa won the women’s.
With the wins, both will jump into the world’s top 20.

Just two months since the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns to win the title, the NBA is back.
Kyrie Irving: As of now, Kyrie and the Brooklyn Nets are at a standoff. Kyrie refuses to get the Covid-19 vaccine, while Brooklyn refuses to let Kyrie practice or play with the team until he does. By NBA rules, Kyrie is eligible for away games but cannot play at home due to local NY mandates.
Ben Simmons: The 76ers estranged point guard returned to practice with the team, but didn’t seem very interested. What makes us say that? He had his phone in his pocket the whole time. If he’s not traded, this could be the most awkward locker room ever.
The Lakers' new big 3: Russell Westbrook returns to his hometown to join LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers have the oldest roster in the league (31.8 years, on average) by almost three years.
Warriors health: The last time we saw Klay Thompson in an NBA game was Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals when he tore his ACL. Before last season, he ruptured his achilles in a pickup game. Finally, Klay’s expected back by Christmas and, with him, so are the Warriors' title hopes.
